These cute felt button chain links are one of my sons favorite quiet time toys. They were so inexpensive and really easy to make!
These cute colorful links are perfect for teaching your child about colors and helping them with fine motor skills.
Here’s what you need:
-6 different colored buttons (I found these at Hobby Lobby for $1.99 or HERE on Amazon)
-6 matching colored felt sheets (Hobby Lobby for $0.50 each or HERE on Amazon)
–Fabric Scissors or a roller cutter and cutting mat with a metal ruler
-Needle and thread
Here’s how to make them:
1. Start out by cutting 2″ strips from the short side of the felt sheets. I used a roller cutter and a metal ruler to help my cuts stay straight. Otherwise, they look like my 2 year old cut them 🙂
2. On one side, measure the button starting about .5″ from the end of the strip. Cut a slit the width of the button.
3. Sew the button on the other end.
4. You’re done!
Now have fun playing with your child, linking them together, learning to button and learning colors!
