I’m delighted that Annette invited me over to guest post today! This has been such a great series so far, and I’m honored to contribute my little activity to the mix. Thanks for reading along and allowing me to share with you!

We have so much that we are thankful for and truly appreciate the opportunity to share the blessings that God has given to our family. While we try to live out an attitude of gratefulness everyday, this is the first year that our kids are old enough to participate in Thanksgiving themed activities. It definitely adds a whole new level of fun to the season as we now get to share the excitement with our children.

Our quadruplet 2-year-olds have some developmental delays that we are currently working through. Because of their extreme prematurity, one of those delayed areas is speech. At our house, talking about being thankful is still more of a one-way monologue, so we are choosing to do activities that don’t require too much talking this year.

One thing we aren’t delayed in is coloring! And since our kids can’t get enough of it, I thought that would be a great place to start the teaching!

I put together a printable coloring page that we use to help our kids understand what it means to be thankful. Keeping it simple for little people, the page includes the big categories of Family, Food, Clothes, Friends, and Playtime.

As we work through the coloring page, it makes it easy to talk about how these are things that are important to us and how sad we would be without them. Additionally, the pictures have the added bonus of helping our kids practice saying common words. I know I’m thankful for any extra practice that we can get in!

The coloring page is a fun and gentle introduction to the idea of being thankful…an idea we hope our kids will take with them through life.

You are welcome to download the Free “I’m Thankful For…” Coloring Page for the little ones that you know!

Today, I went to the beachfront with my kids. I found a sea
shell and gave it to my 4 year old daughter and said “You can hear the ocean if you put this to your ear.”
She put the shell to her ear and screamed.
There was a hermit crab inside and it pinched her ear. She never wants to go back!
LoL I know this is entirely off topic but I had to tell someone!
