Celebrate “Pi Day” With 23 Pie Recipes

03/14/14 | Desserts and Treats, Holidays, Recipes

I have a friend that makes a pie every March 14. At first I was like, “Why?”. Then I wasn’t so stupid and realized that Pi = 3.14 . . . 3/14. Ha Ha! So Happy Pi Day Everyone!

I thought it would be fun to do a round up of awesome pie recipes for you to choose from to make with your family today in honor of Pi. Be sure to head over and look at these bloggers pages and like them on social media, you’ll love the stuff they share.

Celebrate 3/14, "Pi Day" with a round up of our favorite Pie Recipes to make with your kids.

Learn more about Pi: Pi (Greek letter “π”) is the symbol used in mathematics to represent a constant — the ratio of the circumference of a circle to its diameter — which is approximately 3.14159. Pi has been calculated to over one trillion digits beyond its decimal point. As an irrational and transcendental number, it will continue infinitely without repetition or pattern. While only a handful of digits are needed for typical calculations, Pi’s infinite nature makes it a fun challenge to memorize, and to computationally calculate more and more digits.

Now first, you have to eat your dinner before you can have dessert, right? So I am sharing my Homemade Pot Pie recipe with you to serve before the yummy dessert pie you have chosen to make. I make this in a 9×13 pan so it feeds more people, so it’s shaped like a square, instead of a pie slice. But it’s still a pie, so you are allowed to eat it on Pi Day 🙂

Now on to dessert. I’m not sure how you are going to choose between these pies. You might just have to celebrate Pi Day for a few days in a row and make more than one.
