Moments That Matter Most

03/30/14 | Parenting

It’s Sunday. I’m preparing my lesson for my primary class. It’s about Jacob and Esau. I start reflecting on temporal blessings versus eternal blessings. I search for a video that might help bring this point across to my rowdy class of 8 and 9 year olds. I found this video that I just love. I cry, a lot. I want to share it with everyone. Where are my priorities? What do I do all day? What will I do today that will have an eternal impact on my life or the life of my family? Will it be a positive or negative impact?

“We would do well to slow down a little, focus on the significant, lift up our eyes, and truly see the things that matter most.” Elder Dieter F. Uchtdorf

I am so guilty of not looking up. I am so guilty of wasting time on things that are not of eternal value. My prayer is to do better. To be just a little bit better every day. Set timers for myself while I’m working so I don’t get caught up. Make an effort to spend more quality time with my children. Focus on the eternal perspective.

Have a wonderful Sunday!

Annette
