Family Talk About Drinking

07/22/14 | Uncategorized

“I participated in an Ambassador Program on behalf of Mom Central Consulting for Anheuser-Busch’s Family Talk About Drinking program. I received a promotional item to thank me for my participation.”

I am a mom with younger kids. My oldest son is 15. I have about 3 years before I have to start worrying about him moving out and going to college. But I know that conversations about moving out need to be had. Our family expectations and rules still apply when they move out. They are always part of our family and their mom is always their mom. They’ll always answer to me and their dad. 🙂

To help my children with a smooth transition, I know it’s important for us to set clear expectations. Moving out does not free my children from responsibilities, family values, exceptions or laws.

I will be trying to take the time to acknowledge positive choices and encourage my young adults when they are moving in the right direction. I’ll try to schedule time each week to connect with them.

Anheuser-Bush’s Family Talk About Drinking Facebook page features their downloadable parent guide which gives parents proven ways to get started and keep the conversation flowing. While visiting their facebook page, please “like” it so you can get updated information on the FTAD program. Spend some time on the page reading other parents’ comments, and use the parent guide as a resource to help them talk with your kids and young adults about avoiding alcohol.

At Anheuser-Busch, their parents, too, and for more than 20 years, they’ve offered the Family Talk About Drinking program to provide parents with helpful tips on having an open dialog about alcohol with their kids at any age.

Download their parent guide so you can learn how to open a dialog with your child about underage drinking.
