There is a restaurant close to where I live that sells the most amazing breadsticks. They wrap them around a stick and bake them in their pizza ovens. You guys. They are to die for! I love them so much. I wanted to see if I could make them at home, so I decided to try it out. I think they turned out pretty darn good. So today I’m going to give you the recipe for my Copy Cat Pizza Factory Garlic Breadsticks on a Stick. Whew! That’s a mouthful!

We used wooden dowels for our breadstick sticks. We cleaned them and sanded them to make sure we got off any chemical finish they might have. Then we rubbed them down with vegetable oil a few times and let them sit and soak it in. We cut them 16″ long so they would hang over the cake pan. Then we used tin foil to make sure the sticks didn’t fall off the pan. So let’s get to baking!

  • 1 1/2 cups warm water
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 Tablespoon SAF instant yeast
  • 4 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 Tablespoons oil

Add the warm water, sugar, and yeast to a large mixing bowl or your stand mixer bowl. Let the yeast sit for about 5 minutes so it can foam up. Add half of the flour to the mixture and mix well. Add the salt and oil and mix well. Add the rest of the flour until the dough pulls away from the side of the bowl.

Keep mixing with the dough hook for about 5 minutes or knead the dough on a well floured surface for 5 minutes. Let rest for about 15 minutes. Roll out into a rectangle and cut into 8 strips.

Let the dough rise for about 30 minutes or until doubled in size. Bake at 425 degrees for about 15-20 minutes or until golden brown. Brush with the garlic spread recipe below.

Butter Garlic Spread

  • 1/2 cup melted butter
  • 1 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 3 tablespoons Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon Italian Seasoning

Mix all the ingredients together. And brush over the top of the breadsticks as soon as they come out of the oven. I love using a silicone basting brush. It cleans up really easily and holds onto a lot of sauce.
