Bodily Baked Beans for the 4th of July (or any time for that matter)

07/04/09 | Recipes, slowcooker

Okay, so I know the title doesn’t make these Baked Beans sound appetizing, but, they are the BEST Baked Beans I have ever had! I named them this because Bodily is the last name of the wonderful woman who made up this recipe. She is my sister’s mother in law. So here they are…. the Best Baked beans ever!

Bodily Baked Beans

1 can EACH of Kidney, Butter and Great Northern Beans (drained, rinsed and then water added to top of can again with the beans still in there)
3 small cans of Pork ‘n Beans
1/2 c ketchup
1/2 c brown sugar
2 Tbs. vinegar
1 1/2 lbs. Hamburger crumbled and cooked
6 slices of bacon chopped very small
1 small yellow onion diced
2 green bell peppers diced

Add all ingredients to the crock pot and cook for 4 hours on low or 2 hours on high. We always serve them in a cup with a spoon because you will want so much that they won’t fit on your plate with everything else!
