Caramelized Pineapple Recipe

05/16/14 | Desserts and Treats, Recipes

Have you every eaten at Tucanos Brazilian Grill or Rodizio Grill? Well, if you have, you know that you want to be the first to get a slice of the pineapple that they bring around. The first slices have a yummy caramel glaze on them and it’s the most heavenly taste ever! I was cutting up a pineapple the other day and I thought about how much I would like to have their Caramelized Pineapple. Then I thought, “I can make it myself, I know how to make caramel!” So I created this recipe and it’s even better than theirs because it has caramel glaze on EVERY piece! Perfection!

Caramelized Pineapple

Start out by slicing a fresh pineapple into about 1/2 inch long slices.

Then you’ll need:

3 tablespoons of butter
1/2 cup brown sugar

Melt the butter in a non stick sauce pan over medium heat.

Add the brown sugar and stir constantly until boiling.

Now add your fresh pineapple and let cook for about 2 minutes on each side.

Remove to a plate and drizzle the caramel on top. Add as much as you want or none at all if you just want it to be lightly sweet. Let sit about 5 minutes then serve.

Enjoy!
