“This post is a collaboration with Thanksgiving Point. They generously provided tickets for our family to attend the Tulip Festival.”

Tuilip Festival at Thanksgiving Point

I love living in Utah. You will be hard pressed to find another state that has so many family activities available. Utah is a family centered state and so you will feel right at home visiting Utah if you have kids. I love the fact that we live close to mountains, lakes, camping sites, canyons, and desserts. There are so many different hikes you can take your family on, that you’ll never get to them all before your kids turn 18. I’ll be sharing Utah Family Activities this year as a series of blog posts so you can plan your outings with your family this Spring, Summer, Fall and Winter. I’m excited to share with you all the fun things there are to do in Utah.

Family activities to do in Utah

Since it’s Spring now, I thought it would be fun to share with you one of my favorite places to visit during the Spring in Utah County. The Thanksgiving Point Tulip Festival. The Tulip Festival is an annual event held at Thanksgiving Point designed to welcome and celebrate Spring. The festival features nearly 100 different varieties of tulips in every possible color. They are so beautiful and vibrant. My family had a fun time trying to decide which ones were their favorites because there are more than 250,000 tulips on display during the event at Thanksgiving Point’s 55-acre gardens.

Each year features a new and unique display never before seen by past attendees. If you’ve attended before, you need to go again because each year they feature new and unique displays.

The Tulip Festival is the perfect family activity and opportunity to enjoy the warmer weather. This event gives families the chance to get outside while enjoying some of Mother Nature’s most beautiful flowers. They have a fun scavenger hunt for the kids to do while they are there. My 9 year old son had a fun time finding the numbered signs and loved learning more about the flowers.

My kids favorite part was the Waterfall Steps.

Notice how the tulips in the shade have not bloomed like the ones in the sun. This is a great learning experience for the kids to learn about where to plant plants at home.

Food, music and vendors and even storytelling is included on the weekends to make for a fun, family-centered weekend activity. The colorful flowers provide families with fun photo opportunities and the chance to enter their photos into an event contest.

My family loved the coy pond. You can buy food to feed the fish and enjoy looking at the different bright colors of the fish. There is a dock you can walk out on to get a better view.

The event is not only family-friendly, but budget friendly as well. Prices for adults are $15 while tickets for children are just $12. All children under the age of 2 can attend for free! The event takes place April 10 to May 9 (closed Sundays) from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.
