Merry and Bright Banner Christmas Card Display with Cricut

12/04/16 | Christmas, Crafts, Holidays, Home, Home Decor, Homemade, How To

Today I’m sharing with you how to make this adorable and smart Merry and Bright Banner Christmas Card Display with your Cricut machine.

I am in love with my Cricut Explore Air. I have a wall in my room that always has a banner on it depending on what holiday it is. This Christmas I couldn’t find a cute one at Target, so I decided I’d create one on my own with my Cricut. This banner literally cost me a few pennies. All you need is white card stock and some kind of thread or twine.

First I cut the letters in the Cricut Design Space. I used the font Adobe Gothic. It has the clean and modern lines that I wanted. I fit all of these letters onto one 12×12 sheet. I used the Cricut 80 lb cover Cardstock.

Then I used Natural Braiding Cord, because that’s just what I had in my craft room.

It’s amazing what you find in your craft room when you clean it, huh?

To stick the letters to the cord I used double sided Duck Tape runner.

I turned the letters over and put the cord where I wanted it. Then went over it with the tape and pushed it down onto the paper. So the tape actually goes over the cord and down onto the paper. Easy peasy!

Just make sure you space the letters evenly. I started with my A because that was the middle since I also had two snowflakes in between each word. If you would like the snowflake image I used, you can download it by right clicking on the image below and choosing “save image as”. Then save it to a spot on your computer that you won’t forget. This is important! Ha Ha~ Then you can open it and load it in the Cricut Design Space as a cut file. Be sure to remove the white background in the preview window.

Then I cut a longer cord to hold the Christmas Cards and strung that up. I used cute little clothes pins to hold the cards to the cord. Adorable, right?

This is what the banner looked like after I was done.

I think it’s mighty cute! Don’t you! I cut two more large snowflakes to hide the 3M hooks that I used to hold the banner.
