I’m really good at taking care of my husband and kids, not so much myself though. I always forget to eat breakfast, and sometimes even lunch. Then I’m so starving, all I want to do is shove my mouth full of junk. Easy things like chips and granola bars. I also don’t drink enough water throughout the day. I joined a gym in November and have been working out about 5 days a week consistently. I have a personal trainer that gives me the right kind of exercises for my body. Have I lost a lot of weight? No. But that wasn’t my goal. My goal is to be more healthy. I am so much stronger and toned than I was when I first started my workout routine. I can to harder exercises and I can feel my core coming back to life after having 5 kids stretch it to tarnation!

The next step for me is eating right. I really love food. I mean really love it. Do I over eat? No. Quite the opposite. Like I said before, I forget to feed myself. But when I eat, I choose the wrong types of food. I have learned from my personal trainer that I need way more protein when I’m working out to help repair the muscles after intense activity.

The types of protein that I like to eat are meats and cheese. Protein shakes are ok, but I don’t feel satisfied after eating them. I’m always on the go because I teach in the mornings. I need to have a quick snack to grab from the fridge to take with me, otherwise I’ll eat all the goldfish crackers out of the snack stash at the preschool.
