Fathers Day Basket Idea for a Traveling Dad

My husband truly is the best man I have ever met. So it’s no wonder that I married him. My kids didn’t have a choice who their father was, but they won the lottery for sure. He is the best daddy to my kids. He is the perfect dad for them. We are so excited to celebrate him on Fathers Day so we can show him and tell him how much he means to us.

We put together this fun little gift basket for him this year. He is a home security installer, and he works a 300 mile radius, so he is always in his car driving.

So we decided to fill his basket with things he can use in the car.  His basket was filled to the brim with  . . .

  • Sunflower Seeds (to keep him awake on the long drives)
  • Mountain Dew (again to keep him awake and it’s his favorite drink)
  • A new organizer for his cup holder to hold his mints and change.
  • Mints so his breath is fresh for his clients.
  • Books on CD to keep his mind active during the long drives.
  • An air freshener to keep his car fresh and smelling great.
  • An Energizer Headlight, because you never know what kind of emergency might happen or car problems he might encounter.

I think the most important of these is the Energizer Headlight. I found this coupon and headed to Target’s Hardware Department to grab one for him. I chose the Energizer Headlight because I knew the batteries would last longer than others and I loved how the light had different settings so he could use it for all sorts of things.

Have you ever broken down or gotten a flat tire at night and had to change a tire in the dark? It sucks, huh? A regular old flashlight won’t do the job either because you can’t keep it in your hand and fix your car at the same time. Having a headlight helps so much because you have your hands free.

A headlight is the perfect gift for Fathers Day because you know that all daddies are Hero’s. My husband is my hero too. When something in the house breaks, I always say, let’s show daddy when he gets home. He is the best handyman. If he doesn’t know hoe to fix it, he’ll figure it out. This Energizer Headlight will come in really handy for those times when he needs to replace a car battery, take the kids camping, playing outside in the dark with the kids or even at work when installing security systems. He’s going to love it.

Not only does he know how to fix everything, but he teaches the kids how to fix things as he goes. Now my older kids can do so much because of their amazing father. He is an amazing teacher and the kids love it when daddy comes home because they know they get to make something out of wood or go paragliding with him.

Every daddy loves to hear how he’s loved by his family, so I made a cute printable you can fill out with your kids for their daddy. Just ask your kids the questions on the paper and write down their answers exactly how they are said. It will turn out so cute and usually pretty funny! Just click on the image to open in a new window, then right click and choose print or save as.

Remember to print the COUPON before you head to Target to get your Energizer Headlights for your Fathers Day Basket.

Enjoy!
