4th of July Marshmallow Flag Pops

05/30/15 | 4th of July, Desserts and Treats, Patriotic, Recipes, traditions

I love the 4th of July because every year we have a BBQ with friends and family. It’s a great day where daddy doesn’t have to work and we can just enjoy the nice weather, get outside and play, watch fireworks and eat. I love making red, white and blue treats for the 4th of July parties and these cute 4th of July Marshmallow Flag Pops are so festive! My kids love these and I love how they make our BBQ Patriotic and fun.

  • blue sugar
  • red striped paper straws
  • blue striped paper straws
  • white chocolate (I just melted more as I went along, so buy a whole bag of the white chocolate chips)
  • sandwich size zip top bag
  • square marshmallows made for s’mores

Start off by melting about a cup of white chocolate following package directions. Pour the white chocolate into the zip top bag. See how to do this HERE.

Cut a very small bit of the bottom corner of the bag to use as a pastry tip.4th of July Marshmallow Flag Pops

Squeeze out the white chocolate into a square shape in the upper left hand corner of the marshmallow.4th of July Marshmallow Flag Pops

Working over a tray or plate (to catch all the extra sugar for re-using) sprinkle the blue sugar over the white chocolate until completely covered.4th of July Marshmallow Flag Pops

Let the chocolate set while you continue to do this with the remaining marshmallows.

Now squeeze out white chocolate lines across the marshmallow to make the red stripes. Sprinkle red sugar on the stripes until completely covered. 4th of July Marshmallow Flag Pops

Repeat with remaining marshmallows and then let the chocolate set.

Now slowly insert the straws into the bottom of each marshmallow, twisting back and forth as you go so you don’t break up the white chocolate on the marshmallow. 4th of July Marshmallow Flag Pops
