Avalanche Bars- A Twist on the Rice Krispy Treat

Avalanche Bars

My family loves Rice Krispy Bars, but sometimes they can get a little old. That’s why I was so glad when I found this recipe for Avalanche Bars.

They are a treat that is served in the Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory and they are so delicious. The Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory has all sorts of delicious treats to choose from and these are an all time favorite.

Avalanche Bars

They aren’t sticky and gooey like a regular Rice Krispy Treat. They are held together with a melted mixture of white chocolate and peanut butter. Then you throw in some mini marshmallows and top them with chocolate chips.

So easy and quick. They would be a great treat to bring to any party or to make for an after school treat.

Avalanche Bars

  • 3 cups White Chocolate Chips
  • 1/2 cup creamy Peanut Butter
  • 2 cups Mini Marshmallows
  • 6 cups Crispy Rice Cereal
  • 1/2 cup Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips
  1. Melt the white chocolate according to package directions.
  2. Once melted mix in the creamy peanut butter.
  3. Add the rice cereal to a large bowl and pour the white chocolate mixture over the cereal.
  4. Stir well. Let cool for about 5 minutes.
  5. Add the mini marshmallows and stir well.
  6. Pour into a greased 9×13 pan and let cool until firm.
  7. Cut into squares and serve.
